OBJECTIVE:
Draw/write about your sylphling or robuprawn decorated in glow paint and participating in the Spirit Dance!
What is the spirit Dance?
The spirit dance is an October tradition Sylphs take part in with their friends, partners, family, pets, or anyone else they care for! Sylphling’s paint themselves/each other in a bioluminescent paint and pair up to participate in festive dances!
Below we have some examples of poses that can be used during the dance, feel free to reference these or come up with your own!
About the Spirit Dance Paint:
During the Spirit Dance, Sylphlings decorate themselves with a paint that is made of bioluminescent algae, which comes in all different colors! The patterns and markings they create with this paint are entirely abstract, but most commonly are painted as swirls, dots, and random strokes!
Spirit Dance History:
The Spirit Dance was originally created by the Star Serpents, who used it as a way to scare off evil spirits and bad fortune with the light and movement that the dance created. The Star Serpents taught the dance to Sylphlings, who then took it on as a tradition to celebrate in October. This dance is especially relevant and helpful around Halloween, as this is when there is the most potential for bad fortune and foul spirits.
If you don't own a Sylph or Robu of your own, you can utilize #sylphling-art-requests on the discord ( LINK TO DISCORD ) to ask other users if you can use their character for your prompt entry! Make sure to ask them for recommendations on who to pair their character with!

ART RULES:
- At least two fullbody colored Sylph/Robu must be present, traditional or digital art is fine, and must be decorated in glow paint!
- Background is not required, just needs to include the prompt item/subject!
- Artwork submitted must be new art created by you. It cannot be traced or made using templates or bases.
- Good effort must be shown in your piece! For instance, it can't just be a 10 minute scribble.
WRITING RULES:
- Writing entries must be at least 500 words, and be based on prompt! (A 500 page story that has nothing to do with the prompt subject won't count!)
- Story must be new and not include any pre-existing writing you've made!
- As with the rule we made for artwork, your writing should show a good effort! Put thought into the character you're writing about, give us detail about the activity and how they participate in it. Don't just fill up the page with run-ons and bland text to hit that word count.
